COMMUNICATION
The Tablao de Carmen
A tribute to
Carmen Amaya
Design and coporate image of all communication of the Tablao de Carmen Amaya – a traditional Flamenco venue in Barcelona. The Tablao pays tribute to Carmen Amaya, one of Flamenco’s most important figures. Orson Welles, Marlon Brando, Fred Astaire, Charlie Chaplin, and Greta Garbo were all fervent admirers of Carmen.
Animation for documentary
The day that Carmen died in her house in Begur – a small town in Catalunya’s Costa Brava – there was looting. The house was vacant in hours. No dresses nor shoes were left, only a bed and a crude table. Forty-two years later, in the Pyrenees, two trunks and two suitcases showed up full of personal belongings and thousands of photographs of Carmen Amaya. That is when the idea was born to tell her story.
I participated in the animations created and other audiovisual material that was recuperated by the protagonist.
