This book invites the reader on a journey through the unofficial, mythological, and incredible city of Barcelona. The goal was to rescue the soul of the city starting with events that have captured popular imagination and that many times have been led by anonymous people, still unknown today.

The ilustrations join narrative elements and re-write the history of the city starting with the “B” of Barcelona.

>> The foundation of Hercules

Legend has it that Barcelona was founded by Hercules. According to this version a big storm dispersed a fleet of nine ships that were travelling the Mediterranean in search of a golden fleece. Only one ship survived. The vessel was found in an area known as Casa Atúnez or Can Tunis. It was there that Hercoles saw an olive valley between two rivers and decided to found “Barcanona” – a variation of of the Catalan phrase “ninth ship.”
